ATC turned into a card----------

This is an ATC I made for Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge. A few weeks ago they posted on how to turn your ATCs into a card. I instantly thought of my mother when I seen the challenge.  "You are my sunshine"

Every time my mother can she tells me that when I was little I would just walk around singing this song. Non stop. I would sing it to her every chance I got she always reminds me, of course when its most embarrassing.  It just seemed fitting for me to make her a card saying it.

So I started with an ATC. Simple enough, I make tons of them. Then I built the card around it. That got harder. I should have pulled my papers together before to see what I had but nope..I just ran with it.

I was not organized well. The green strip that was to go on the outside of the card was taped down on the inside and I cut all the stripes different lengths.  Its not the end the card as I still love the way it turned out but it would have been following the sketch better.

Following challenges below. Give me a sec please

Ok I need to take a drive up to my moms house and pop this into her mailbox.

Ribbon score and a Mothers day card--------

NO stickles to dry so typing and placing photos at the same time.

Shocker shocker!

I have been so busy my head is about to fall off. Its 8:20 pm here and I have yet to eat my meal! I made lemon chicken with baked potatoes and I am letting it "Cool" off after being baked a while. Good news is with the husband coming home from his trip tomorrow he can eat the left overs for lunch!

I had a great few days on the buyers market. I know you are thinking "OMG Carly, you said you were not going to spend any money and save for your husbands birthday" Yea...well..I won 20$ gambling so get off my back. I spent 6 dollars. I got a HUGE score on lace and such on ebay. I think its a score because its all the colors I love and there was enough of it for me to learn how to use it and not be out of lace. I do not know the value of it in crafters world, but I think it was good for 6$ It arrived today and I was impressed, its clean smells normal and was good quality. Someone took care of their ribbon.....except for the whole ball it up thing. :D For an idea of length the light pink on the lower right is longer than I am tall. So no less than 5 feet long.  Lots o ribbon!

Lot of Craft Sewing Lace Remnants, 1 Quart Bag Full

But lets get to why you are linked to my project. The card right?  I am so loving this end product. I am sorry to use the same Tilda but I only have so many and my mom has never gotten this Tilda so we are good. I went with something that I liked that made me sooopa happy. I feel so happy and buzzy, light headed and giggly...I am...in love with the card?  Anyway I wanted to go with something that showed my style more because so many things recently have been made completely with my mom in mind. She can only get so many purple cards before she starts asking if I own any other colors.

**Pink and white** Yeah, I clapped my hands! I cut Tildas hair to look like mine too. Yes I do have little wings on the side of my head, thank you for asking!

I moved the wing aside to show that the wording is not covered up, that its a design.carlysketch 54
I already wrote my love to my mom on the inside so I did not take a photo of that. Just the easel. I tend to get the card done and write my feelings and thoughts in it, I think because I am generally so happy it easy to express things!

Entering the following.

Happy Birthday Princess-----

Hi ya, yes stickles still wet...how did you know?!

Anyway I have the house all to my self for a bit, which is good because I am cranky! So cranky I am complaining to Tilda as I color, yes, I hate the heat. My hair is mussed, my back is sore and my feet are tired, 88 degrees in this house is too hot!

My nieces birthday party is in 6 days so I got to work on her birthday card. It was sooooo hard at first but then I found my paper and I did not stop once before I was done. Now I have one heck of a clean up, but its done and I love it! The colors are lovely and inspired by Magnolia-licious in the image below. I picked up on the primary colors and went to town!

My card is intended for a 4 year old princess who is getting everything pink, I wanted to be a step outside the box with her card. With her baby sister coming really soon I also wanted to go a bit overboard for a 4 year old, let her know that I love her! This will be her last birthday party alone, as her sister is so close they will have a combined party. She is scared about the baby coming, never said it, but you can see the jealousy in her eyes. I do not blame her, for four years she was the only girl and lavished with kawaii, pink, love and hugs. Now when something pink comes in she is told "Ahh thats for the new baby".  Poor kid, a bit to young to understand I think.

I had fun making this. I can say I have never used colors like this together! The princess last month ( the silver thing is decoration)

Magnolia-Licious----- Color inspiration photo above
Sweet stamping--------- Girly but NOT pink
OOzak------------ Anything my 3rd and last entry
Midweek Magnolias--- Special Birthday
Totally Tilda---- Happy birthday my second entry this week.

You are:--------

Yup, another photo and scrappy page of Callie my kitty! Admit it, you missed seeing her!  I am going to type this up while, you guessed it, stickles dry.

I wanted to play along in a challenge that makes you use 1-6 of certain items, and let me tell you it was hard! I am working on something like 6x6 and even just the 6 words was kinda hard. But then I cuddled my kitty for some tv brain rot time and it kinda came to me. You are and then 4 words to describe my kitty. (Does not hurt that Paramore the only exception was in my head) So I asked my husband to give some answers with the cat in mind and when I got words like "Defiant" and "poignant" I figured he went to school too long.  I dumbed down the words for me and the little nieces and nephews who always look at it and added some of my own.  After all we cannot have all his words there. The rest fell into place the page is perfect, and of course Callie worthy!

                                                                    Can you see the glitter?

:D she sleeping while I work!

The challenges that I am going to enter her page into are follows:

Happy birthday Mum!----

While my stickles are still wet I decided to come to the computer and type out my words. Good use of time considering I am also baking dinner! Husband does not know what a catch he got.

ANYWAY

This is a card I made for my mothers upcoming birthday. Its May 7th so I wanted to get started soon because in the USA its also mothers day abouts that time.  I put a lot more thought, effort and supplies into this one and I think from here on out thats what I am going to do. I was always scared to make a card "Cluttered" but I think it came out lovely. I hope my mum loves it, her favorite color is purple and right now I cannot get enough Kraft paper. I love it, I want to buy more but I am starting a "No spending" craft/fun budget.  Yes I am, for the next 2 months too! Why you ask? Husbands birthday is coming up in June and he wants a tv, about as much as I want flower sprays and pearls so thats A LOT! But the money that I make to spend on my craft supplies is going to be pinched into a piggy bank.  It will not be a billion dollars but it should be a nice sum to put towards the tv.  What did I say, hubby got a catch!

Easter Cards-------

Thease are the cards that I made for my in laws. We went out to eat with them last friday and I am now just getting around to posting them! I hope everyone elses Easter is treating them as well as mine did.  I gotta say being 23 and not waking up to a basket of goodies makes me feel extremely immaturely angry. "Stupid easter bunny! Everyone enjoys holidays!"  But it got better when I was able to see my daddy and mum. Had a great dinner with them and came home and kinda had an evening doing odds and ends.

I love magnolia. Only thing I hate is that I do not own many at all! I neeeeeeed more Tildas...my precious!

Also anyone able to recommend any paper trimmers? Mine broke its last leg and I am scrambling to get a new QUALITY one.

Fairy castle continued

Getting a lot done on this side of the computer. Went on a shopping spree and of course played with that for a while so I am posting much later than normals.  I want to get right to it and then back to my husband so there is less frilly chit chat than normal. The first two photos show what is already done and how the theme os going so far...kind of like a progress report!

This was a hard item to get a picture of, no matter what I did it had to be off center and what not to avoid the glare.  Once all things are said and done I will fix up the holes on the left side where it binds together. I figure that once all the ribbon gets added you really will not see it though. This is my nieces newborn photo, mod podge over it worked really well! This is the third page of the 6 (or 7?) page castle for her birthday, of course telling her that she is a little princess growing up!

Entering it into the following
Dessert Island----- going with 3 8 9 and 10...for the bunny!
Come and get it-------- Spring
Ginger loft- ---------Anything but a card
Bitten by the bug- Princess word cut from cricut. Designed myself in a program but still cut with the cricut :)
Penny black- oh so cute
ABC Challenge------=- Magical, princess theme
partytime tuesday------- flowers
Totally Stampalicious----- anything but card
I am going to call that that this night. I am getting sick I think, been nauseated all day and horrible headache, it seems to come and go though. If your wondering it just came. But I need to get 2 more Easter cards done for tomorrow, I have early easter dinner plans.  I had to make more easel cards after the winter one!  Happy Thursday folks:)

Scrapbook Fashionista

I wanted to bring light to another blogger, I think she has the golden gift with paper! I mean it go over to her blog and please take a look at some of her artwork.  Look at her scrap room too, its always nice to get inside the work space of a master :)  By far my favorite thing she has created would be the trinket box, I think because I have a love for little cubbies to store things in. Also where she confesses her addiction to gate fold cards, that paper the pearls, the design OH MY! I would love to gift a card like that.

How was I lucky enough to find this blogger?  I was drawn by pink and followed a candy link. Her work is breath taking and I never heard of many of the things she has made, I can expand my projects to make! I only enter into things where I would love to win and would be able to use the item, I know some people that just join in hopes to win anything at all.  But when I saw this pink I about dropped my kitty! The fact that its pink and Making memories is the main brand had nothing to do with my desire, nor the new baby girl coming, nor my little kittys scrapbook, not even my niece who is a princess. Or is it those are all the reasons why I adore this give away? This winner will be lucky, please go enter if your able to use the goodies and follow her page. Her work is like candy in your blogger review every time she posts :)

With you winter is warm----

I bought this digi image about a year ago now for our wedding album. I used teal colors and made as much of a winter theme as I could using the same digi. I think it worked really really well and it shows that digis can be so very flexible! This is the first easel card that I made and o boy, I need to perfect things. Like why does my easel sit almost at the end, and why does it not line up?!?! I spelled winter "Winnter" on the inside so I adjusted it by making a few cute words 3-d. Oops fixed!
Anyway I am hiding this card from my husband because I will give it to him this winter.  I just gotta wait for all these days to pass :D

I used Christmas blue design cricut paper and a metal Making memories frame. The snow flakes are double sided stickers from Martha S. that I used glitter on. The pearls are just half pearls I got in a lot of 6000 from china for 4.00 (Sorry its a great deal and I need to brag!). While I am at it the digi stamp is from Greeting farm and the brown paper is...is....a pack I bought on clearance. Best pack of paper I ever bought for 4$!!!

Somebunny loves you-----------

I made this little atc after seeing a post that inspired me. Is that not great, to see something and then know you can do the same smart thing.  I love to make ATCs but I only can display up to 4 at a time so its a bit frustrating to have a ton. I came across this post that shows you can use the ATC and make them into cards. I love it! Now I can make all the ATCs that I please and then turn them into cards that I need!

I made this ATC. I mean how cute is the little digi bunny, I love him! I colored him about 4 times for each little project and each time the fur comes out different.
